GIANT IDEAS DOES NOT FORM NEW INTERACTIVE GROUP
PITTSBURGH, PA – February, 2008 – Giant Ideas is pleased to announce that it is not forming a new interactive group or division. The surprise announcement came today amid much speculation and anticipation among the national press, and ends months of useless and rampant rumors.
“We have always believed in an integrated approach to marketing and advertising,” said Bryan K. Ward, CEO of Giant Ideas. “Forming a separate division for digital or interactive services would seem kind of pointless and redundant. Our entire staff is dedicated to interactive services, just like they are to media, account planning, branding and creative... not necessarily in that order.”
Giant Ideas recently hired Damian Hassán as Interactive Design Director, which on the surface might seem to contradict Mr. Ward’s previous comment. “Not at all,” he explained. “Damian is an extremely talented and valuable addition to our growing staff. He is incredibly gifted in many areas, including design and motion graphics, but he will certainly function primarily as the lead on interactive projects. But, he works hand-in-hand with our entire staff, he isn’t part of a separate group or division.”
This decision flies in the face of industry trends as, almost daily, more and more agencies announce new digital / interactive divisions or groups. Stan Muschweck, President of Giant Ideas, tries to explain in layman's terms, “Substantial and quantitative research indicates a growing and trendy turn in the advertising industry towards treating digital / interactive as a separate and distinct area of focus. Honestly, we find that to be quite baffling. We’ve been on the forefront of these services for well over a decade now, and while they are important tools in our toolbox, we believe they are only one part of an integrated approach. In the final analysis, serving our client’s needs and exceeding their expectations is the most important job.”
Giant Ideas serves a diverse group of clients on an international, national and regional basis, and is headquartered in Pittsburgh. Giant provides a wide-range of innovative services, including webisodes, on-line advertising and media, word-of-mouth, viral campaigns and lots of other nifty interactive stuff other agencies are seemingly just now getting around to. Giant’s award-winning website is www.giantideas.com. |
